A bit about the shop

Monstera's Books is an independent bookstore based in Overland Park, KS. We sell new books, used books, plants, stationery, merch, gifts and more.

Our bookshop opened in March 2024 and is owned by Kate Wieners, who got tired of working in the corporate world and chased her dream: spending every day surrounded by books and plants.

In the summer of 2025, a fire at the restaurant next door caused extensive damage to our space and we had to start over. We survived by selling books from our home, by hosting popups in the parking lot, and by hand-delivering books all over Kansas City.

We are a local business – 
our customers are our neighbors. We love Overland Park, we live 5 minutes from the store, and we are working to build something our whole community can be proud of.
